Samsung has just launched two new handsets via U.S. Cellular, the Trill and Caliber models, also dubbed SCH-R520 and SCH-R850 respectively. The first is an average slider, while the Samsung Caliber is a touchscreen phone, based on Samsung’s TouchWiz OS (this time not overlayed on Windows Mobile).
Trill will go for $89.95, while Caliber costs $99.95, with 2 year contracts and $50 mail in rebates each. SCH-R520 aka Samsung Trill features Bang & Olufsen ICEpower audio technology, a 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording features, 1GB of phone memory, expandable memory (up to 32GB), Stereo Bluetooth, a 2.2 inch QCIF TFT display and one touch speakerphone.
Samsung Caliber comes with widget support, social networking features, full HTML web browsing, a 3.0 megapixel camera with video recording, video/audio player, a 3.2 inch display with a 240 x 400 pixel resolution, speakerphone and a battery that provides up to 5 hours of talk time.

The Samsung Caliber could use some refinements, but it is overall a decent touch-screen multimedia phone for U.S. Cellular.
