Say “hello” to a new iPhone 4G concept, this time one with a dual sliding design and gaming features. Dubbed the iPhone Pro and created by Antonio De Rosa, this iPhone concept is visually stunning and comes with impressive features, like 64GB of internal memory and a front videocall camera.

iPhone Pro runs OS 3.2 and comes with a sliding mechanism that hides two paddles using LED backlight and a touch surface. These will be brilliant for gaming sessions, as will be the comfortable design of the handset. The front camera is hidden inside the top paddle and we learn that there’s a MagSafe power connection at the back of the new iPhone.

Notice how slick this design is, with those two sliding parts, making perfect videogame touch controls. Would you buy such an iPhone 4G?

While US consumers are taking full advantage of the capabilities of Nexus One, the European ones are stuck waiting for the handset to be released via a local carrier. Vodafone UK is one of those carriers, gearing up to launch the phone this Spring. Also, we’ve learned that Nexus One just popped up on Vodafone’s site.

Scheduled for an April release (although it’s not 100% sure), the handset has been spotted on Vodafone UK’s website with a “coming soon” note attached to it. Don’t discount a March launch as well and if you’re wondering about prices, speculations claim they’ll be around EUR 150 with a 2 year contract.

Vodafone UK customers will also have the choice between this handset and HTC Legend, running Android 2.1 as well.

LG Electronics has just introduced a new clamshell handset on the Russian market, the GD350 model, going for $186. This device doesn’t impress through specs, but rather through its elegant all black exterior with gold accents. Check out the compact phone below:

LG GD350 features red LED lights on the outside, an external display, too, used to show incoming calls, messages as notifications, as well as the time and date. There’s also a 2 megapixel camera incorporated into the upper half of the handset, while on one side of the GD350 you’ll find a microSD card slot and volume keys.

On the other side there’s the microUSB port and the specs list of the device includes a music player, FM radio, Bluetooth and a 800 mAh Li-ion battery.

If you’re not satisfied with software jailbreaks anymore, we’ve got a cool gizmo for you, the iDongle. This little accessory can jailbreak and activate an iPhone 3GS or iPod touch with OS 3.1.2 on board, simply by plugging it into the dock connector.

If there’s a jailbroken iPhone around, you can use the gadget to reboot the phone from a computer, which will become a problem in the future, specially with those nasty hackers lurking around. A dozen prototypes of the iDongle are available now, with pre-order options, but more will come, as the guys making these raise funds.

Samsung has just announced its plans to unveil new technologies at CTIA Wireless 2010, taking place between 23 and 25 March. Among the new products there’s also something called “S Life”, that the company calls “as much a feeling as it is an incredible achievement” and apparently it’s based on simplicity and technology enrichment.

This is part of the Samsung Unpacked series of events, so the product could be a new smartphone, maybe one based on Bada OS. During these events, the company unveiled handsets like Samsung Jet S8000 or Samsung Wave S8500. Samsung S Life will be shown on March 23 in Las Vegas, so we’ve only got about 11 days of waiting time.

HTC Incredible is back to show us its face, this time in pretty interesting color pattern, specially on the inside (red-ish). If you’re into Android devices or you’re a Verizon fan, you might find this smartphone interesting, specially since we’ve found out a bunch of its specs.

The handset should use about 512MB RAM, of which 320MB will be available, about the same as on the Nexus One. Incredible apparently sports an 8 megapixel camera, surprising for a HTC device, but also pretty impressive. The Snapdragon CPU on board was underclocked to 768MHz for some reason, most likely to save battery.

Android 2.1 runs the show on the phone, together with HTC Sense and we also found out that the case measures 117.5 x 58.5 x 11.9mm, thicker and shorter than Nexus One’s. Rumour has it that this device will hit the market in April or May, so we’ve got some waiting to do.

One year ago, Google launched the YouTube Mobile app for Nokia S60 and Windows Mobile and the software grew and expanded since then. Today, we’re meeting the 2.4 version of the app complete with tons of improvements. Let us remind you that the last version was chosen as a Nokia Ovi Top App of 2009.

The YouTube Mobile app is considered the fastest way to play video on your smartphone and find clips. Since we’ve mentioned finding videos, you’ll also be able to use search query suggestions, a new feat of the app. “My Account” is also supported and there’s a new homescreen UI included in the software, optimized for larger displays.

As soon as you log into your YouTube account, you’ll view your favorites, subscriptions and playlists. Query suggestions show the user relevant suggestions as he types various keywords in the YouTube search box, looking for videos. In order to download the new app on your WM handset or Nokia S60 device, go to m.youtube.com/app in your phone’s browser.

Symbian^3 is coming to the market in 2010, that’s for sure, but does it have what it takes to brings the platform to a new level? Apparently, the first devices running it will be available starting Q3 and what we have below is a live demo of the OS. It runs on a laptop and not on a phone, being manipulated in front of a live audience.

Symbian^3 looks very much like a modern smartphone environment should, which is good news, but still Symbian^4 will be the game changer, specially as far as multitouch is concerned. The homescreen has been upgraded and it’s very widget-friendly, allowing customization, new homescreens to be added and more.

The task manager was also revamped and Nokia claims that this OS is 3 times faster in the graphics department, plus it gets multitasking. Multitouch is also coming to the Symbian platform, on resistive and capacitive screens alike. Here’s the Symbian^3 demo, for more details:

While the rest of the platforms have been getting lots of love from Opera, Android was stuck with Opera Mini 4 for a year now, but they’ve recently received the new version as well. Thus, Opera Mini 5 beta is now ready to go on Google’s platform, complete with the newest features.

The most important new feat is certainly the implementation of tabbed browsing, that has become a default option on most modern browsers. Opera Mini 5 also brings Speed Dial and Password Manager on Android, with the first function allowing the user to access one of 9 favorite sites with a single click. Opera Link is also on board, syncing bookmarks between the desktop browser and the mobile one.

We all know what the main appeal of the Opera Mini browser is: its ability to compress data, in order to save money for folks with expensive data plans. Does this version compete with the default Android browser? What do you say?

Based on the original Motorola CLIQ, but dropping that handset’s slide-out hardware keyboard in favor of a slimmer chassis and Swype text-entry system, the CLIQ XT certainly has a reasonably packed spec-list.  A 5-megapixel camera, multitouch and Flash Lite support are all this season’s must-haves, and despite the CLIQ XT being positioned as a mid-range device they’re all onboard.

Still, it’s been a long time since Android 1.5 was current, and as we’ve learnt the hard way in the past, it’s not about the specs but how the device delivers.  Does the Motorola CLIQ XT do enough to push past its OS limitations in what’s now a far more competitive Android segment?  You’ll have to read the full review to find out.
